Edging closer to mainline trials for GoExpress

GoExpress founder Adam Parkinson presents the early findings to the Freight Innovation Fund 4 cohort in February 2026.

Following months of technical development, modelling, and partner engagement, we were proud to present our initial results at the Connected Places Catapult Freight Innovation Fund 4 Launch Day in February 2026.

The early findings are encouraging. They demonstrate a clear pathway to introducing higher-speed, time-sensitive, low carbon rail services that can better complement road logistics - unlocking new market opportunities for intermodal and express freight.

Crucially, the work to date has not just validated the technical concept, but also strengthened the commercial case. Engagement with industry partners continues to shape a scalable proposition that aligns operational feasibility with real customer demand.

The focus now shifts to the next phase: progressing toward mainline trials. This will be a critical step in proving how GoExpress can operate in a live network environment - integrating with existing passenger and freight services while delivering the reliability and speed the market expects.

We’re excited about what comes next and grateful to our partners and collaborators who are helping turn this concept into reality. Stay tuned for more information in the coming month!
